Your decision to select software for your manufacturing/wholesale/retail operation is important.

Consider these factors when making a selection.

Development Language

All MPI Systems software is developed using state-of-the-art Microsoft products to assure the highest performance, stability, and future compatibility.

Some of the competition's products are developed using obsolete software development tools such as FoxPro. Microsoft has announced that the Foxpro development team has been dissolved and their mainstream support for Foxpro ends January 12, 2010!

Database

MPI uses Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for the highest security, data integrity, and reliability available anywhere. Nothing is more important than secure and reliable data.

Some of the competition's products use old or unreliable tools such as:
  • dbf (FoxPro) file formats that are obsoletes and prone to corruption. As previously mentioned, Microrosoft suspends mainstream support for Foxpro in 2010.
  • Plain text files that cannot be secured. All it takes is one misplaced comma to cause an entire record to be corrupted.
  • Closed or proprietary databases that cannot be used for external report or analysis in Excel. We feel your data is your data and it is not our business to prevent you from accessing your data in a secure environment for custom reports, spreadsheet analysis, mail merges or website uploads.

    Microsoft Support! MPI-JewelerŪ is based upon Microsoft Retail Management System, which is supported by Microsoft. 24 hour Business Critical support, CustomerSource and free upgrades are all part of the Microsoft?MPI suport package.

    None of our competitors can offer direct retail support from Microsoft!

    Credentials

    MPI Systems was incorporated in 1986 and we work exclusively with the jewelry industry. We will not be selling to a clothing store or food distributor next week.

    For some competitors, jewelry is only a segment of their business or are new to the industry. Jewelry is different and we understand that.
