Our Founders

Richard G Kaye

Richard G. Kaye (Rick), Co-founder of MPI Systems, Inc., holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from The Cooper Union in New York and an MBA in Management from Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, CT. While at Sacred Heart, he developed a novel Modified Gantt Chart, a new tool for project management, as part of his concentration in Operations Research.

With over 25 years of diversified experience in manufacturing engineering and software systems development, Rick has superior skills in precious metal fabrication and plating, automatic assembly, and manufacturing systems development.

As a sought-after consultant to the jewelry industry throughout the United States and globally, Rick has authored multiple articles for AJM Magazine on PC based software for the jewelry manufacturer, and has been an invited speaker at a number of professional and trade societies on the topic, including the Sante Fe Symposium – the premiere conference on jewelry manufacturing technology.

Rick is the principal architect and lead developer of all MPI software systems; ShopControlPro®, a jewelry manufacturing/ERP system – selected as one of the top 100 client/server award winners by InfoWorld Magazine – and GEMINI®, the state-of-the-art jewelry retail store and wholesale management system. The GEMINI® Pro version provides enhancements with the designer manufacturer in mind.

When not at his computer, Rick is an avid road cyclist and hiker.

Annette Schwarz Kaye

Annette Schwarz Kaye, Co-founder of MPI Systems, Inc., received her Master and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Queens College of the City University in New York.

Prior to MPI, Annette served on the staff of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City as an audiologist, working with patients on testing, differential diagnosis, rehabilitation, counseling, research, and educating resident physicians and medical students at grand rounds. Subsequently, she founded and was principal of Hearing Conservation Services, Inc., a successful consultancy to medium and large corporations in hearing conservation management, testing, training, and noise abatement. Her clients, comprised of Fortune 500 companies, included Pitney Bowes.

At MPI, Annette directs sales, marketing and customer support teams. She derives a great deal of satisfaction working directly with MPI clients. Currently an active member of the Women’s Jewelry Association’s Metropolitan division, Annette is a former member of their board.

When not at MPI, Annette, can be found on the tennis court, road cycling, hiking, and tending to her organic vegetable garden. She is also a classical music enthusiast, among the many cultural activities she enjoys.
